For this blog, I thought I'd do something a little different. I was talking to Lucas Smith (PG Geist), and he wanted some tips on a conversion he was making. I thought it was a great idea, so with his permission, I stole it!

Over the next few blogs, I'll be converting a Captain Jeremiah Kraye model into a thrall model. Pretty sweet huh? I'll go over the making of fire effects, rotting flesh, and a rather simple and convincing smoke effect.

I'll start by carefully cutting out Kraye’s head and drilling out the collar so there's room for the Thrall Warrior skull from the Alexia boxed set (part# mc-0243-c in the online store). Next, I drill holes and gouges wherever I want there to be rotting flesh and exposed muscle. Make sure the holes and gouges are deep enough to put putty in. If you make a mistake, you can always fill it with putty and sand it smooth.

Remember, this guy is dead, so go to town! The horse, saddle, Kraye's clothing, armor, and other bits all need cuts, small holes, scratches, and wounds.

Next, I'll go into the making of rotted flesh and wounds! Yee haw!
