Insider 8/19/2010

The dust is settling from the hectic and amazing week that was Gen Con.

I’d like to take this insider to say how awesome the show was and to thank all the people who stopped by the booth to say hi and talk minis. Passing on my craft and encouraging others to be confident enough to push their painting further is one of things I feel most passionate about.

It was great to have a place where I could connect with so many people from around the world who enjoy the art of miniatures. The quality of submissions for the Formula P3 Grandmaster Painting competition gets better every year, and I was pleased that this year, using the new award format, we were able to give out even more recognition to all the fantastic work we received.

For my part it was a blast to represent Privateer Press in the Gen Con painting competition with a conversion of Durgen Madhammer that I’m hoping to share with everyone shortly. Taking a little time away from to the booth to field interviews with the Guts & Gears and Boosted Damage podcasts was a first for me and was a great opportunity to talk shop with some folks as excited about the course of Privateer and the hobby as I am. Finally I’d like to say that the feeling of solidarity that emerges between everyone on the crew, volunteers, and players is really a great feeling and one that I’m already looking forward to next year.
