June 2017 Dynamic Update – Developer’s Notes

Below you’ll find all the changes that came out of the battle engines CID cycle, a few other clerical updates that fix some unintentional interactions between rules, abilities, and models, and updates to several theme forces.

CYGNAR

Stormblade Infantry Officer & Standard
In the Conductor special rule, change “Stormcall” to “special attack.”

This is one of those clerical changes for consistency, just to bring the Conductor special rule in line with the new-edition version of Stormcall.

Lightning Pod
In the Conductor special rule, change “Stormcall” to “special attack.”

Ditto.

Storm Strider
Increase the number of damage boxes to 28.
Remove the Kinetic Accumulator special rule.
Add the Build Up Power and Conductor special rules to the Storm Strider:

Build Up Power – If this model advances during its Normal Movement, it gains d3 power tokens. This model can have up to three power tokens at any time. During its activation, this model can spend power tokens to boost one attack or damage roll for each token spent.
Conductor – When a friendly Stormsmith Stormcaller makes a Surge or Triangulation special attack, this model is considered to be another friendly Stormsmith Stormcaller.

The Storm Strider morphed into a much more reliable gun platform during the battle engine CID. Giving it a reasonable amount of damage boxes and creating a mechanism to more easily control how and when it can gain power tokens brought a lot of consistency to the model and should increase its viability in certain Cygnar list builds.

PROTECTORATE OF MENOTH

Hierarch Severius
Replace the first sentence of the Admonisher special rule with the following:

When an enemy model is directly hit by an attack with this weapon, the d3 nearest enemy models within 4˝ of the model hit suffer an unboostable POW 10 magical damage roll.

See note for Vessel of Judgment below.

Vessel of Judgment
Change the subtype line to “Protectorate Scrutator Battle Engine.”
Increase the number of damage boxes to 32.
Reduce the RNG of Divine Wrath to 12.
Add the Reload [1] special rule to Divine Wrath:

Reload [1] – This model can suffer d3 damage points to make one additional ranged attack with this weapon during its Combat Action.

Replace the Cleansing Aura miracle with Bonds of Faith:

Bonds of Faith – This model can use this miracle once per turn at any time during its activation. Remove d3 damage points from other friendly Faction models in this model’s command range. Additionally, when this miracle is used, enemy upkeep spells and animi on models/units in this model’s command range immediately expire. A spellcaster can keep any of its upkeep spells in play by suffering d3 damage points per spell.

Replace the second sentence of the Doors of Judgment miracle with the following:

The disabled model can immediately make a full advance and can make one basic attack, then the disabled model is destroyed. The disabled model can make this attack even while out of formation.

Replace the first sentence of the Admonisher special rule with the following:

When an enemy model is directly hit by an attack with this weapon, the d3 nearest enemy models within 4˝ of the model hit suffer an unboostable POW 10 magical damage roll.

The Vessel of Judgment was focused away from being a support-focused battle engine into more of a combined gun platform/support role. With its new miracle, Bonds of Faith, it breathes new life into multi-wound infantry while also helping maintain the battle line of warjacks after their first round of engagement. Adding Reload [1] to the Vessel increases its offensive output substantially, but also increases the amount of self-damage being inflicted, usually requiring mechanics to make sure the battle engine stays on the field. Allowing models to make their Doors of Judgement attacks while out of formation is a simple quality of life change for Protectorate players.

The damage rolls from Admonisher are now unboostable. Boosting those rolls proved to be incredibly powerful, allowing the Vessel to not only clear out light infantry (as intended) but also to put substantial damage into multi-would targets as well. Note that this change also applies to Severius 2’s melee weapon. Coupled with Reload [1], we felt this change was necessary.

KHADOR

Supreme Kommandant Irusk
Replace the second sentence of the Artifice of Deviation spell with the following:

While completely within the AOE, friendly Faction models gain cover.

The wording changed to “completely within” because the number of models able to take advantage of the cover-granting AOE was higher than we originally intended. This change also brings this spell in line with The Dreamer’s version of the spell.

Kommander Oleg Strakhov
Replace the first sentence of the Overrun spell with the following:

When target model in the spellcaster’s battlegroup destroys one or more enemy models with an attack during its Combat Action, immediately after the attack is resolved one model in the spellcaster’s battlegroup that is in its control range can make a full advance, then Overrun expires.

Overrun had an unforeseen interaction with the impact attacks of Kallus 2. Limiting the trigger to the model’s Combat Action resolves that issue, though it has no effect on Khador currently.

Assault Kommander Strakhov & Kommandos
Replace the first sentence of the Battle Maneuvers special rule with the following:

Affected models gain Reposition [5˝] while in formation this turn.

Replace the text of the Quiet Advance special rule with the following:

Affected models gain Stealth while in formation for one round.

These changes were made to clarify when models are affected by these rules.

Winter Guard Gun Carriage
Reduce the point cost to 17.
Increase the number of damage boxes to 38.
Reduce the RNG of the Heavy Cannon to 10.
Remove the Trample Power Attack special rule from the Gun Carriage.
Add the Crushing Weight and Line Breaker special rules to the Gun Carriage:

Crushing Weight – When it charges, this model is not required to move at least 3˝ to make impact attacks. Instead of making impact attacks only once, this model can make impact attacks each time it contacts a model for the first time during its charge.

Line Breaker – This model gains an additional die on impact attack rolls.

Remove the Momentum special rule from the Mount.
Add the Knockdown and Ton of Bricks special rules to the Mount:

Knockdown – When a model is hit by an attack with this weapon, it becomes knocked down.

Ton of Bricks – A model hit by a non-impact attack with this weapon is slammed d3˝ directly away from this model. The POW of collateral damage is equal to the POW of this weapon.

The Gun Carriage’s design intent is slamming into enemy lines and disrupting their formation while Winter Guard advance behind and take advantage of the ensuing chaos, and its new rules implement this concept flawlessly. Crashing through infantry units to knock down, slam, and fire cannons that leave behind craters of rough terrain is a perfect combination for a forward assault-style vehicle. Dropping its points, adding a large number of boxes, and modifying its melee capabilities left us with a powerful and effective battle engine.

CRYX

Master Necrotech Mortenebra
Replace the first sentence of the Overrun spell with the following:

When target model in the spellcaster’s battlegroup destroys one or more enemy models with an attack during its Combat Action, immediately after the attack is resolved one model in the spellcaster’s battlegroup that is in its control range can make a full advance, then Overrun expires.

Overrun had an unforeseen interaction with the impact attacks of Kallus 2. Limiting the trigger to the model’s Combat Action resolves that issue, though it has no effect on Cryx currently.

Desecrator
Increase the RNG of the Plague Bringer to 12
Increase the POW of the Plague Bringer to 14.
Replace the Scather special rule with Void Field:

Void Field – This attack’s AOE is a hazard that remains in play for one round. Non-undead models entering or ending their activations in the AOE suffer 1 point of corrosion damage.

As the warjack that gained the most from its inclusion with Bane models in the upcoming Dark Host theme force, we wanted to give the Desecrator a slight bump in power so it would be a stronger choice inside that theme. With the increased offensive capabilities of its ranged attacks as well as replacing Scather with a more directly useful version for undead models, we hope this jack will work its way into more lists.

Sepulcher
Replace the text of Necroharvester [4˝] with the following:

When an enemy living or undead model is destroyed within 4˝ of this model, this model gains the destroyed model’s corpse token. When a friendly living or undead Faction model is destroyed by a continuous effect, an enemy attack, or collateral damage from an enemy attack within 4˝ of this model, this model gains the destroyed model’s corpse token. This model can have up to three corpse tokens at any time.

With this change, we hope players with armies based on Mechanithralls and Brute Thralls will be more inclined to include their themed colossal.

Bane Knights
Reduce the point cost for Leader & 5 Grunts to 9 and for Leader & 9 Grunts to 15.
Remove the Vengeance special rule.
Add the Set Defense special rule to Bane Knights:

Set Defense – A model in this model’s front arc suffers –2 on charge, slam power attack, and impact attack rolls against this model.

Add the Wall of Steel special rule to Bane Knights:

Wall of Steel – While this model is B2B with one or more models in its unit, it gains +2 ARM.

Changing the design direction of Bane Knights from purely offensive to a more defensive role helps differentiate them from Bane Warriors. Combined with some of the defensive spells and abilities available in Cryx, the Bane Knights are infantry that can become very difficult to remove while carrying a solid melee threat.

Bane Riders
Increase the MAT to 7.
Increase the RNG of the Bane Blade to 2.
Remove the Curse [Bane Riders] special rule.
Add the Vengeance special rule to Bane Riders:

Vengeance – During your Maintenance Phase, if one or more models in this unit were damaged by enemy attacks during the last round, each model in the unit can advance 3˝ and make one basic melee attack.

The Bane Riders are seen as the “fast” Bane option. Bringing SPD 7 and a 2˝ melee range to the table, they out-threat all of the other Bane units. Combine their Reposition [3˝] and Vengeance with Ghostly and the unit can really get places that you would not expect. The loss of Curse in exchange for a flat increase in MAT makes their impact attacks much more reliable and makes the unit a little easier for newer players to use.

Bane Warriors
Reduce the point cost for Leader & 9 Grunts to 16.

Bane Warriors had all of the stats and rules we wanted to see on the unit. Reducing their points simply makes them a more attractive and competitive option inside of Cryx.

Bane Warrior Officer & Standard
Reduce the point cost to 5.
Move the Granted: Tough special rule from the Officer to the Standard Bearer.
Replace the text of the Void Bringer special rule with the following:

This model can use Void Bringer once per game at any time during its unit’s activation. When this model uses Void Bringer, return d3 + 1 destroyed Grunts to this unit. Place the returned Grunts completely within 3˝ of this model. Returned Grunts must forfeit their Combat Actions this activation.

The changes to this command attachment are mostly for quality of life. Reducing the point cost is always helpful in bringing the power level of a model or unit up, while moving Granted: Tough to the Standard Bearer allows the officer to play farther forward without being as tempting of a target for the opponent. The change to Void Bringer enhances the consistency of the unit while also removing a huge possible swing in power should the Bane Warriors get tangled up with a large amount of living infantry.

Brute Thrall
Increase the DEF to 12.
Increase the RNG of the Heavy Steamfist to 1.

A slight bump in DEF gives the Brute Thrall a bit more survivability on the tabletop, and the increase in its melee range to 1˝ lets it pile in behind a line of Mechanithralls to attack the same target, allowing for a much more aggressive unit.

Mechanithralls
Reduce the point cost for Leader & 9 Grunts to 9.
Increase the DEF to 12.

Reducing the point cost of the “swarm” infantry of Mechanithralls brings a little more merit to their design intent. The increase to DEF 12 gives them a tiny bump in survivability, especially in large numbers.

Necrosurgeon & Stitch Thralls
Replace the first sentence of the Body Snatcher special rule with the following:

When a living or undead model is destroyed within 5˝ of this model or a Grunt in its unit that is in formation, this model gains the destroyed model’s corpse token.

Replace the first sentence of the Resurrectionist (★Action) special rule with the following:

Remove up to three corpse tokens from this model to add one small-based Grunt to a friendly Thrall unit in this model's command range for each token removed. Place these Grunts in formation completely within 3" of this model. They must forfeit their Combat Action the turn they are put into play.

Replace the Sacrificial Pawn [Stitch Thrall Grunt or Mechanithrall] special rule with Sacrificial Pawn [Thrall]:

Sacrificial Pawn [Thrall] – When this model is directly hit by an enemy ranged attack, you can have one friendly, non-incorporeal Thrall model within 3˝ of it directly hit instead. That model is automatically hit and suffers all damage and effects.

The Necrosurgeon underwent several iterations in this CID cycle, and we ended up a little farther from its original form than we anticipated. Allowing it to interact with all of the small-based thrall units really opens it up for inclusion in a variety of lists and, we think, makes the models much more interesting.

Bane Lord Tartarus
Reduce the point cost to 6.
Increase the MAT to 8.
Remove the Curse [Bane] special rule.
Add the Veteran Leader [Bane] special rule to Bane Lord Tartarus:

Veteran Leader [Bane] – While in this model’s command range, other friendly Bane models gain +1 to attack rolls.

Bane Lord Tartarus received mostly quality-of-life changes, making him easier to use and allowing him to function more fluidly on the battlefield.

Wraith Engine
Increase the number of damage boxes to 26.
Remove the Cleave special rule.
Add the Rapid Strike special rule to the Wraith Engine:

Rapid Strike – This model can make one additional melee attack each Combat Action.

Replace the text of the Soul Bondage special rule with the following:

Once per round when a living enemy warrior model is destroyed within 2˝ of this model, you can replace the destroyed model with a Machine Wraith solo. The destroyed model is removed from play and does not provide a soul token.

Replace the text of the Unhallowed special rule with the following:

While in this model’s command range, friendly Faction undead models gain +2 ARM against ranged and magical attacks.

The Wraith Engine became a support powerhouse for the undead portions of Cryx. While still not having a huge offensive potential, the change from Cleave to Rapid Strike really opens up its damage output against heavier models while retaining the same level of anti-infantry it has always possessed. Changing Unhallowed to affect all undead instead of just incorporeal models affords Banes and Thralls a serious bump in survivability against range-oriented lists.

RETRIBUTION OF SCYRAH

Aelyth Vyr, Blade of Nyssor
Replace the first sentence of the Last Word special rule with the following:

When this model is disabled by an enemy attack at any time except while it is advancing, it can immediately advance up to 3˝ and can make one basic melee attack.

This is a clerical change to clarify the timing of Last Word.

Arcantrik Force Generator
Increase the point cost to 17.
Reduce the ARM to 18.
Increase the ROF of the Teleforce Cannon to 2.
Remove the Dual Shot and Range Booster special rules.
Add the Carapace special rule to the Arcantrik Force Generator:

Carapace – This model gains +4 ARM against free strike damage rolls and ranged attack damage rolls.

Add the Focused Power special rule to the Arcantrik Force Generator:

Focused Power – While within 2˝ of this model, the ranged weapons of friendly warjacks gain +2 RNG. If this model uses its Normal Movement to aim, its ranged weapon gains +2 RNG and it gains +2 to its ranged attack damage rolls that activation.

Replace the text of the Destructor special rule with the following:

Damage rolls resulting from this attack are automatically boosted.

This is another battle engine that received a significant bump in power. The Arcantrik Force Generator received some quality-of-life changes to make it more consistent on the field, picked up some defensive abilities in the form of Carapace, and received a rather substantial increase to its damage output that allows it to threaten heavier targets more consistently.

CONVERGENCE OF CYRISS

Iron Mother Directrix & Exponent Servitors
Replace the Feat: Mathematical Perfection rules text with the following:

The base MAT and RAT of models in Directrix’s battlegroup are each equal to her FOCUS for one turn.

The interaction between base and modified stats has been clarified for Iron Mother’s feat.

Transfinite Emergence Projector
Increase the number of damage boxes to 23.

The Transfinite Emergence Projector is a consistently powerful battle engine and we saw no compelling arguments to make substantial changes. We did, however, see an un-thematic miscalculation in its damage boxes. It now has 23. #PrimeNumbers

MERCENARIES

Captain Damiano
Replace the first sentence of the Battle Maneuvers special rule with the following:

Affected models gain Reposition [5˝] while in formation this turn.

This change was made to include a duration in the rule.

Hammerfall Siege Crawler
Reduce the point cost to 18.
Increase the number of damage boxes to 40.
Remove the Roadblock special rule.
Add the Girded, Periscope, and Reinforcements [Rhulic] special rules to the Siege Crawler:

Girded – This model and friendly models B2B with it do not suffer blast damage.

Periscope – This model can use Periscope once per activation at any time. Choose an enemy model in this model’s LOS. That model loses Stealth for one round.

Reinforcements [Rhulic] – During your Maintenance Phase, return d3 small-based friendly destroyed Rhulic Grunts to play. Models return with 1 unmarked damage box. Place the returned Grunts completely within this model’s command range, in formation, and completely within 3˝ of another model in their unit. Returned Grunts must forfeit their Combat Actions the turn they are returned to play.

Becoming a stronger support model, the Hammerfall Siege Crawler picked up a few new rules. Periscope is a powerful rule that should bring a strong new ability to Rhulic forces (and Merc forces in general) by allowing their ranged attacks to be more effective. With the addition of Girded and Reinforcements [Rhulic], the Siege Crawler supplies a varied package of support in addition to its ranged presence. Its substantial increase in boxes should not be overlooked!

TROLLBLOODS

Hoarluk Doomshaper, Shaman of the Gnarls
Replace the first sentence of the Guardian Beast spell with the following:

Once per turn when an enemy model advances and ends its movement within 6˝ of the spellcaster, you can choose a warbeast in the spellcaster’s battlegroup that is in its control range.

Guardian Beast is no longer a compulsory choice; the player can now choose whether to trigger the effect or not.

War Wagon
Reduce the point cost to 16.
Increase the number of damage boxes to 38.
Increase the POW of the Pounder to 17.
Add the Crushing Weight and Shooting Gallery special rules to the War Wagon:

Crushing Weight – When it charges, this model is not required to move at least 3˝ to make impact attacks. Instead of making impact attacks only once, this model can make impact attacks each time it contacts a model for the first time during its charge.

Shooting Gallery – This model gains +2 to ranged attack rolls against models within 5˝ of it.

Remove the Momentum special rule.
Remove the Trample Power Attack special rule from the War Wagon.

Similar to Khador’s Gun Carriage, the War Wagon’s design intent is slamming into enemy lines and disrupting their formation while Trollkin advance behind and take advantage of the resulting chaos, and its new rules bring this concept to life beautifully. Crashing through infantry units to knock down, slam, and fire its cannon to knock down even more models is a perfect combination for a forward assault-style vehicle. Dropping its points, adding a large number of boxes, and modifying its melee capabilities led to a powerful and effective battle engine.

CIRCLE ORBOROS

Una the Falconer
Replace the first sentence of the Guardian Beast spell with the following.

Celestial Fulcrum
Increase the number of damage boxes to 28.
Remove the Fury Generator special rule.
Add the Fury Bank, Power of the Stones, and Veteran Leader [Blackclad] special rules to the Celestial Fulcrum:

Fury Bank – While this model is in a friendly Faction warlock’s control range during the warlock’s activation, the warlock can move fury points from himself to it at any time. This model can have up to 3 fury points at any time. During its Combat Action, this model can spend fury points to boost one attack or damage roll for each fury point spent.

Power of the Stones – During your Control Phase, this model can leech fury from friendly Faction construct warbeasts in its command range.

Veteran Leader [Blackclad] – While in this model’s command range, other friendly Blackclad models gain +1 to attack rolls.

Remove the Smoke special rule from the Flame Blast weapon.

Increasing its gun platform abilities by enhancing its support play seemed the appropriate direction for the Celestial Fulcrum. Gaining easier access to its boost mechanic makes the model more consistently offensive, and tying it to Wold warbeasts brings out its flavor and creates an interesting choice for several army lists. Veteran Leader [Blackclad] affects a large portion of the Faction, helping to justify the battle engine’s substantial point cost.

SKORNE

Siege Animantarax
Increase the SPD to 8.
Increase the ARM to 20.
Increase the number of damage boxes to 35.
Increase the RNG of the Club Tail to 2.
Remove the third sentence of the Cantankerous special rule, which reads “This model gains +1 SPD for each rage token currently on it.”
Add the following to the end of the Independent Attack special rule:

During its activation, this model can make its initial attacks with these weapons before it makes its Normal Movement.

Remove the Critical Smite special rule.
Add the Knockdown special rule to the Club Tail:

Knockdown – When a model is hit by an attack with this weapon, it becomes knocked down.

A hotly debated model during this CID, the Siege Animantarax received big increases to its melee output while retaining a solid ranged presence. Being one of the fastest options in the Faction coupled with having a very strong melee presence carves out a valued niche for this battle engine.

LEGION OF EVERBLIGHT

Kallus, Devastation of Everblight
Replace the first sentence of the Overrun spell with the following:

When target model in the spellcaster’s battlegroup destroys one or more enemy models with an attack during its Combat Action, immediately after the attack is resolved one model in the spellcaster’s battlegroup that is in its control range can make a full advance, then Overrun expires.

Overrun had an unforeseen interaction with the impact attacks of Kallus 2. Limiting the trigger to the model’s Combat Action resolves that issue.

Throne of Everblight
Reduce the point cost to 16.
Increase the number of damage boxes to 36.
Increase the number of Tentacle weapons to x4.
Remove the Bone Picker, Death Feast, and The Feeding special rules.
Add the following Magic Ability special rule to the Throne of Everblight:

Ice Cage (★Attack) – Ice Cage is a RNG 10 magic attack. A model hit suffers a cumulative –2 DEF for one turn unless it has Immunity: Cold. When a model without Immunity: Cold is hit with three or more Ice Cage attacks the same turn, it becomes stationary for one round.

Replace the text of the Necrophage special rule with the following:

This model can make one Magic Ability special attack each time it destroys or removes from play one or more enemy models with a melee attack during its activation.

Add the Snacking special rule to the Throne of Everblight:

Snacking – When this model boxes a living model with a melee attack, it can choose to remove the boxed model from play. When it does, this model can remove d3 damage points.

Our goal here was to focus the Throne of Everblight a little more on an inti-infantry role while still retaining a moderate anti-armor punch. A large increase to damage boxes coupled with aggressive costing makes the Throne an interesting choice in a variety of Legion army builds.

MINIONS

Dr. Arkadius

Sturm & Drang
Replace the first sentence of the Feat: Psychic Apocalypse rules text with the following:

Enemy warbeasts currently in Sturm & Drang’s control range have their base FURY reduced to 1.

Replace the first sentence of the Struggle of the Wills special rule with the following:

Before the start of the game and at the start of each of your Maintenance Phases after your first turn, choose which mind is dominant: Sturm or Drang.

New wording on base stats versus modified stats in Psychic Apocalypse clears up several rules interactions, and the revised version of Struggle of Wills clarifies how to determine which of Sturm & Drang’s minds will start the game.

Meat Thresher
Reduce the point cost to 16.
Increase the number of damage boxes to 36.
Reduce the ROF of the Hailer to d3 + 1.
Increase the POW of the Hailer to 13.
Add the Volume Fire special rule to the Hailer:

Volume Fire – Gain +1 to attack and damage rolls with this weapon against medium-based models and +2 to attack and damage rolls against large- and huge-based models.

Add the Exhaust Fumes and the Turn Up the Heat special rules to the Meat Thresher:

Exhaust Fumes – When this model advances during its Normal Movement, for one round other friendly models gain concealment while within 3˝ of this model.

Turn Up the Heat – This model can use Turn Up the Heat at the start of its activation. This activation, this model gains +2 SPD. At the end of the activation, this model suffers d3 damage points. Turn Up the Heat can be used only once per activation.

As another shock-troop-style battle engine, the Meat Thresher gains some solid increases to its offensive capabilities while picking up a nice support ability to help deliver friendly models to the battle.

Sacral Vault
Reduce the point cost to 17.
Increase the number of damage boxes to 30.
Increase the RAT to 6.
Reduce the ROF of Spectral Fury to 1.
Replace the text of the Minion special rule with the following:

This model will work for Circle, Legion, and Trollbloods.

Add the Telemetry special rule to the Sacral Vault:

Telemetry – Other friendly Faction models gain +2 to magic attack rolls against enemy models in this model’s command range.

Replace the first sentence of Deathly Domination with the following:

When this weapon boxes a living or undead non-warcaster, non-warlock enemy warrior model, you can immediately take control of the enemy model and make a full advance with it followed by a basic melee attack, then the boxed model is destroyed.

Add the Reload [2] special rule to Spectral Fury:

Reload [2] – This model can spend soul tokens to make up to two additional ranged attacks with this weapon during its Combat Action. It can make one additional attack for each soul token spent.

The Sacral Vault was already seen as a very strong battle engine, and mostly it received only slight changes to help its efficiency. A one-point cost reduction, some minor stat increases, an added Faction it can work for, and a few quality-of-life changes with Reload [2] and Deathly Domination bring this battle engine to a very respectable level. Telemetry is very niche, but when relevant it’s a strong rule for several warlocks.

Theme Force Errata

Cryx Theme Force: Infernal Machines
Under Army Composition, add “Wraith Engine battle engines.”

We feel this theme benefits a great deal with the inclusion of the Wraith Engine.

Retribution of Scyrah Theme Force: Defenders of Ios
Replace the first special rule with the following:

For every full 20 points of units and battle engines in this army, you can add one weapon crew unit, command attachment, or solo to the army free of cost. Free models/units do not count toward the total point value of units in the army when calculating this bonus.

Adding the Arcantric Force Generator to the allowed models for calculating free points brings this rule in line with what we would like to see for this theme force.

Mercenaries Theme Force: Hammer Strike
Replace the first sentence of the first special rule with the following:

For every full 20 points of units and battle engines in this army, you can add one weapon crew unit, command attachment, or Ogrun Bokur solo to the army free of cost.

Adding the Siege Crawler to the allowed models for calculating free points brings this rule in line with what we would like to see for this theme force.

Skorne Theme Force: Winds of Death
Replace the first sentence of the first special rule with the following:

For every full 20 points of battle engines and Venator models/units in this army, you can add one Venator weapon crew unit or solo to the army free of cost.

Adding the Siege Animantarax to the allowed units for calculating free points brings this rule in line with what we would like to see for this theme force.

Legion of Everblight Theme Force: Children of the Dragon
Under Army Composition, add “Azrael” and “Zuriel.”
Replace the first special rule with the following:

For every full 25 points of warbeasts in this army, you can add one command attachment, five Incubus solos, or one other small-based solo to the army free of cost.

Adding Azreal and Zuriel to this list is very thematically fitting and allows for more diverse and interesting list-building options. The second change opens up another option for free models within the theme.

Legion of Everblight Theme Force: Oracles of Annihilation
Under Army Composition, replace “Legion warcasters” with “Legion warlocks.”
Replace the first special rule with the following:

For every full 25 points of warbeasts and battle engines in this army, you can add one command attachment or solo to the army free of cost.

Replace the third special rule with the following:

Friendly models/units can begin the game affected by the upkeep spells of models in this army. These spells and their targets must be declared before either player deploys any models. Models in this army do not have to pay to upkeep their spells during your first turn of the game.

Oops. Legion does not have warcasters. But moving right along: We added the Throne of Everblight to the allowed models for calculating free points to help promote list diversity within this theme. The wording of the upkeep spells benefit was updated for consistency among all theme forces and to align the rule with our original intent. Note that this change to the upkeep spells benefit was made in the following theme forces as well: Sons of the Tempest (Cygnar), The Creator’s Might (Protectorate), Forges of War (Retribution), and The Power of Dhunia (Trollbloods).

Legion of Everblight Theme Force: Ravens of War
Under Army Composition, replace “Legion warcasters” with “Legion warlocks.”

Again, Legion does not have warcasters.
