Insider 7/19/2010

Gen Con is almost here, and I am utterly determined to prove that Privateer Press has the best-dressed fans in all of tabletop gaming.

I’m equally determined to prove that our audience is loyal not just to Privateer but also to their friendly local game stores and game clubs! “But Simon,” you say, “while I agree with your bold assessment of my fashion sense and honorable loyalties, I’d like to know what I can do to help prove you right!”

Well, I’m glad you asked. The answer is a little event I’ve dreamed up called Unit Formation! This year at Gen Con you will have an opportunity to display pride in your comrades, just like the proud, valorous, and occasionally piratical soldiers of the Iron Kingdoms!
Maybe your gaming group or store has always had something in common with the denizens of the Iron Kingdoms. The infamous Louisiana Swamp Gobbers are reputed an easy example, hailing as they do from the dank marshes of Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Other Privateer gamers may take pride in other aspects of their friendships in the style of the NJ SOBS.

No matter who your group is or where you’re from, I can’t wait to see you flying your colors high for both Privateer and your group this year and then reward you for your loyalties!

Unit Formation! – Show your pride in your gaming group or local gaming shop! Create and wear custom uniforms displaying your faction, club, and game loyalties! Teams that attend the 5 Horsemen Team Tournament in their Unit’s uniform will receive extra Scars. Even if you can’t make it to the 5 Horsemen Tournament but want to represent your team at Gen Con, just come dressed in uniform with your entire team and register in our events hall. Everyone who registers will receive special dogtags and have the opportunity to be part of a group photo for No Quarter Magazine at the Privateer Press booth on Friday, August 6th at 3 PM.

Finally, stay tuned for surprise events and news during Gen Con via Twitter! Just follow @privateerevents and @privateerpress for up-to-the-minute information on Privateer Press at Gen Con 2010 and other events throughout the year!
Next week, I’m going to take a few minutes to hint at some of the awesome stuff we have lined up at Gen Con that will definitely make you want to get a Twitter account.
