Insider 10/7/2010

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here, and I would like to take a moment to talk about my favorite aspect of the miniatures hobby: conversions.

Now sculpting is a skill I most certainly do not have, so I alter my figures by adding, cutting, and bending existing parts. I like to call this process blue-collar conversion.

Now I would like to introduce you one of my blue-collar conversions, my friend the warrior Agonizer.

The armament for this guy is very simple and requires very little cutting. The parts you need are as follows:
X2 Praetorian shoulder pads
X1 Praetorian sword
X1 Ferox shield
X1 Titan shoulder pad
X1 Harbinger chain

As a supporter of PETT (People for the Ethical Treatment of Titans), I have always been sympathetic to the plight of Agonizers and wanted to create one that could fight back. I made this little guy back in 2007, and after all this time it’s still my favorite.

If you want to see more of my conversions, check out the Bodge Bin feature in No Quarter Magazine. There you can see more of my conversions painted by the skilled Will Shick, along with a parts list showing all the parts used to alter the model. Issue 32 featured Rorsh and Brine after taking their last job with the Skrone a little too seriously. Next issue, you will see what I think Drake MacBain’s personal Nomad would look like.
